Hot Little Rocket

The legendary Hot Little Rocket were from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and beloved by the public as unmasked bandits that stole hearts. With a tight, infectious, energetic sound and lyrics that are catchy but clever enough not to be caught, it’s no wonder that when asked, all MuchMusic’s Chris Nelson could say was “Hot Little Rocket? They’re incredible.” The first recording that demonstrated HLR’s fusion of post-punk frenzy with a certain rock and roll cool was the six-song EP Laika,  featuring standout tracks like “Prop Plane”, “Suit Up” and “Transmogrifier”. Take it back to the beginning of “some of the best indie rock that Calgary (Canada for that matter) has ever seen” (Dennis Scanland, MusicEmissions.com).
